At Mermaid tackle we pride ourselves in building and supply what we regard as the highest quality and largest range of sea fishing rigs currently available on the market today. Most of the rig designs do not use the traditional metal crimps used on sea fishing rigs, which can weaken the line and do not allow the rig to be adjusted. At Mermaid tackle we use adjustable silicone sliders in place of these metal crimps which allow the rigs to be easily adjusted to suit that longer snood, or to adjust the snood height to suit the fish feeding habits.The range of the very popular Mermaid-designed rigs are hand-built by sea anglers for Mermaid tackle customers.

Unlike cheaper store-bought rigs, Mermaid rigs are not designed as throwaway items, they're built to last and built to be easily customisable to suit your exact fishing needs. As a result over the period of their life Mermaid rigs will prove to be much cheaper than mass produced alternatives. The rigs are built to last and more importantly built to catch fish using both traditional and innovative rigs designs which have been proven time and time again.

All of the Mermaid rigs are precision made to the highest standard only using the best ingredients available including all hooks, clips and line. As standard all of our rigs use the very popular Aberdeen hook pattern. All of our rigs are hand tied and stress tested by experienced saltwater anglers prior to leaving our factory in Great Britain. As standard all of the snoods on our rigs feature a snood clip facilitating easy removal and replacement of the snood from the main body of the rig and, an adjustable silicon stop knot, with a bead and sequin acting both as an attractor and bait stop. In place of traditional metal clips Silicon Sliders are use don nearly all of our rigs allowing complete adjustability of the rig.

In order to prolong the life of your mermaid rig after use we do recomend the application of Pilchard oil to all metallic parts in order to preserve them. We try where possible to make sure that if a rig has more than one snood that the lines used are of a different colour, this faciliates untangling when out on the beach. We also supply silicone stand offs on most of our rigs which again prevents tangling.
