The Mermaid distance pulley rig is suitable for most
fishing especially over rough ground. When you're ready to cast the bait clip allows you to clip the rig into a streamlined state for a good tidy long range cast. Finally the pulley setup means that as the fish bites and pulls on the line the lead on the other end of the pulley is hoisted high above the sea floor back up to the main pivot swivel and therefore well away from any seabed tangles whilst you concentrate on landing your catch.
