The Mermaid boom downtide rig is an adaptable single
boom running ledger suitable for most bottom feeding fish that can be found over relatively snag free bottoms The 4" ruggedised boom helps to avoid the tangles encountered when downptide fishing. The weight is attached to the hook snap link pulling down and sending the trace off away from danger.

Downtiding is the technique of fishing downttide on the drift from an anchored boat.
