The Mermaid boom downtide pennel rig is an
adaptable single boom running ledger with a pennel
arrangement allowing the natural presentation of
larger baits such as Squid. The 4" ruggedised boom helps to avoid the tangles encountered when downtide fishing. The weight is attached to the hook snap link pulling down and sending the trace off away from danger.

Downtiding is the technique of fishing downttide on the drift from an anchored boat.
